Warwick New York
Earlier this year I stayed at the Warwick Seattle under a spring special they emailed me. This happened right around the time I was looking an New York hotel. I went ahead and booked the Warwick New York under the same special for all four of my nights in New York. This hotel is near Central Park, Times Square, and the Theater District. And it’s about a mile down the road from the Manhattan cruise terminal.
I paid a total of $900 for the four nights–fully refundable. At the time I had an option of adding a private terrace for an additional $50 per night. That was tempting but I knew I wouldn’t be spending much time in the room. A couple weeks prior to the trip I did a price check. The basic room was coming to around $1000. My premier city view was coming to $1100.
There is a mailbox by the elevators.
When you walk into my room there’s a little hallway. The bathroom is immediately to the left.
The bathroom is on the small side. The biggest problem is there’s no counter space in here.
I was happy with this shower. I like a walk-in shower with dispensers.
After the bathroom you come to the closet.
It’s equipped with a safe, iron, ironing board, and a luggage stand.
This is a pretty good sized room for New York City.
The only USB plugs in the room are on the alarm clock on that night stand.
I never used housekeeping service here. I just asked the lady from housekeeping for more towels and told her not to worry about my room.
This is a look outside the window. There is a hot dog vendor on every corner. One block down you can see an ice cream truck. Across from him is the Halal Guys. You will not go hungry here.
Randolph’s Bar and Lounge is immediately to your left when walking in.
Across from the Randolph’s Mural’s on 54 which serves breakfast and dinner.
On the second floor they have meeting rooms and a business center. There’s also a fitness center I didn’t use.
I did use the business center to print documents for my trip.
The business center has an ATM.
The business center has both Mac and PC users covered.
I liked this hotel and would recommend it. My only complaints are the lack of counter space in the bathroom and I would’ve like USB ports in the desk area.
If I could get a good price here I wouldn’t hesitate to book it again. But I would prefer a hotel closer to Times Square and fewer than three blocks from a subway station.
