Kenai Fjords

on
November 15, 2024

The main reason I wanted to come back to Seward with Norwegian was to do a Kenai Fjords tour. I wasn’t in town long enough to do one last year. The two primary companies for those tours are Kenai Fjords Tours and Major Marine.

For a smaller boat, Seward Ocean…

I just arrived on the Park Connection bus to Seward. I do prefer the Embarkation Scenic Cruise Train, but if you are looking to get to Seward quicker, earlier, and/or cheaper, Park Connection Motorcoach is a good option.

I arrived in the opposite side of town from my hotel. I…

Hotel Edgewater in Seward

on
October 24, 2024

I found Hotel Edgewater to be a nice option in Seward particularly if you’re looking to enjoy downtown. I ate at The Cookery which was right across the street. The Main Street was one street over. The Alaska Sea Life Center was basically across the street. The location was…

Last year I took the embarkation day train from the Airport to Seward. That gets you to Seward just in time to board the ship. This time I’m going a day early and I want to maximize my time in Seward. A train takes five hours and a bus…

Jewel: Anchorage

on
October 18, 2024

I just arrived in Anchorage. I took a $19 Uber from the airport to my Airbnb near downtown. The civic center is where my bus to Seward leaves from in the morning. I’m heading out for dinner at the Glacier Brewhouse now.

Even though it’s 9pm it’s still light outside…
