Vista: 1st Sea Day
Good morning! I got a good 8 hours of sleep. I needed that. We hit some pretty rough waters this morning. It woke me up at 5:30am. And we’re still experiencing some though not nearly as bad as it was a few hours ago.
Its been awhile since I’ve been on a ship where I’m not 100% sure where everything is. I feel like there should be a hot tub where those tables are in the below picture.

I know in the past room temperature has been an issue people have complained about. I think that’s another thing they’ve worked on with thhis class. I suspect that’s why I lost my third closet.
Main Lounge
The Morning Show is going on in the Main Lounge. Matt just said the rough seas we had this morning is as bad as it will get.
As for my seating in the back of the lounge…It could be worse. But I’d like a full bar in front of me so I can lean on it with both elbows. Especially with the ship rocking like this. It’s like I’m riding a mechanical bull trying to stay on this bar stool.
You’ve got the love seats in the very back. I bet things get interesting there.

I returned to the Atrium bar for another Spicy bloody mary but they have one bartender who is loaded down and it isn’t Miguel who made the good bloody mary for me earlier. I’m trying my luck at the casino bar. They have two bartenders.

I noticed they have a Red Frog java Stout on tap at the Atrium bar. I’m going to have to check that out on a port day. I don’t like using my cheers drinks on beers on a sea day.
Serenity Deck
The serenity deck is loaded right now. I see maybe 10 chairs and 1 lounger that doesn’t have a person or towel on it. I did see about 10 loungers stacked up and there was room to place them on one side. I don’t know if you could just grab one or what.
Looks like they have a bar and buffet up here as well.

Laundry Room
I need to touch up my clothes for elegant night and my room location is extremely close to the laundry room on Dream and conquest class. It does not look like the laundry room is in the same location on Vista. I have to figure that out.
Clothes are ready for elegant night. The laundry room is directly below where it used to be. It’s much bigger now.
Lunch
For lunch I’m having the Mongolian Wok again in JiJi’s. I really liked those Wontons.
You can hear a lot of banging in here. I think we’re under the basketball court. It’s ridiculous.
YTD check-in desk
This is next to the coffee shop deck 5. You can start checking in here at 5pm. You can also use the app or go to the dining room. At the dining room you have to wait until 5:30. If you want a specific table or server you can request that here or at the dining room but not on the app.
Forward elevator lobby
This elevator system is stupid. I was hoping the system where you put in the floor you want and it tells you which elevator to get on. I’ve used that in some luxury hotels and it’s been great. Push your floor button or scan you room card. What they have here now is certain elevators go to certain decks. It doesn’t impact me much because I’m usually going between 3 and 10. And all of them go to those decks. But if you’re on deck 1 or 2, not every elevator goes to your deck. I guess it could be an advantage to me because I have more elevators going to my deck than some people do.
The dumb part is if I want a chance at every possible elevator, I have to hit three sets of buttons. If I do that and get on one elevator, the other two sets will stay lit until an elevator from each set stops on that floor. As a result the elevators end up stopping on a lot of floors where nobody is waiting for an elevator. Hopefully they upgrade this system at some point.
Alchemy Bar
A lot of confusion at the Alchemy. I was here about 12 mins before they took my order.
they were making a lot of drinks. One of them took my card back to the register. I thought he was going to put someone else’s drink on it because he still hadn’t taken my order. But we got it squared away.

Side note: someone tried to buy someone else a drink on their cheers and was denied.
The Perfect storm. Again weird. He got sidetracked talking to a girl that sat down and never put the rosemary garnish in the drink. And hasn’t taken my card yet.
They finally took the card. Just in time to ring up another drink. Then I need to get ready for dinner.

I always said they should replace the library with a bar.
Oh my. There’s a loud young urchin next door. I haven’t heard it until just now. Is it visiting? Was it sedated yesterday?
Dinner
I tried this for the first time last cruise and really liked it.

Family Harbor
After dinner I needed to go by guest services because I realized I locked my sail & sign card in my room. I checked-in for dinner at the deck four dining room but forgot they walked me downstairs to the third deck. After dinner thinking I was on the fourth deck I went down one flight to get to deck three where guest services is. I was actually on deck two. So while there I captured these pictures of the family harbor common area while it was empty.
Alchemy Bar
I stopped by the room and changed out of the monkey suit, recovered the monkey, then headed to the Alchemy Bar.
I asked Milan to make something without wiskey or tequila. He made me a gin cucumber drink.
I know this one has rum and chambord in it.

Comedy Club
As expected the comedy club is easily the smallest I’ve been in. I got a seat 13 minutes before showtime. Seats are available But there’s a lot of seat saving going on. I think almost every seat left is “saved.”

Comedy Club
I’m back for the second comedy show. There are some empty seats 5 mins till showtime. It’s mostly singles. I don’t see hands and feet and jackets on chairs like the last show.
While waiting for the show to start I wrote a poem.

After the show I headed back to the Alchemy for a drink.
You know those disco ball cups you can get a drink from the nightclub in? A guy just walked by with one of those and dropped it…busted his ball.
That last one I know had rum in it. This one I know has lavender, lime, gin, and I missed the last bottle. It was another alcohol.
Comedy Club
I went by the comedy club to checkout the situation for the 11:30 show. And it’s the nightclub now. So I check the fun times. The last show is in the liquid lounge. No problems getting a seat there and they have a bar. I wonder what the bar situation is like in the “nightclub”. Do they bring in a portable bar or do you just order from servers? I’ll have to check it out at some point. Maybe tonight. Alchemy will be closed when this show is over. I thought they stayed up till 1am on the Dream. Maybe they stayed open later because they doubled as the ocean plaza bar on the Dream.
Main Lounge
The comedy club host said this is tonight only. I’m wondering if the comedy shows are going to be earlier or if the nightclub is going to open later. Or are they going to have the night club in here.
I noticed the PG shows have started earlier than on other ships. The first PG show today was 6:15. On Dream they were 7 or 7:30.
Here’s an idea. I could check the fun times for tomorrow. Wow! The latest comedy show is 9:45 tomorrow night. I think that’s the earliest latest comedy show I’ve ever seen. And tomorrow is serenity nights. On Dream that meant the night club is moved outside and the crew members get the night club. So I’m guessing there’s a crew party in the limelight after the 9:45 comedy show.
Red Frog Pub
After comedy I went to the red frog pub and got a thirsty frog red draft beer. I want to try some of their food and it seems like a good time to do that. I also wanted to try that stout beer I saw in the atrium but they don’t have it here. Shocking they brew beer here and you can get it in the atrium but you can’t get it here.
It looks like they have the pour you own beer system at the tables.
Cabin
You have got to be kidding me. It’s 1am and the kid next door is crying.
I brought back some wings from the Red Frog Pub.
I left something in the neighbor’s mailbox.
I just put my headphones on, ate my chicken, and when I was done, the crying game was over. I don’t know what the neighbors did. Maybe they checked their mail.
Duct tape is the best thing I’ve ever packed. I’ve used it to patch up my suitcase, hang the fun times on the wall, cover up glow in the dark alien stickers on the wall, opt out of mail, and now to help the neighbors with their child.
