Venezia Transatlantic: New York Day 3
Good Morning! I am flying out of Newark, New Jersey this afternoon. My plan is to go eat breakfast, then pick up a sandwich from Katz to go for lunch. I just grabbed a coffee to go from the free breakfast area at the hotel.
This is the first time I’ve seen the John Wick building without a truck blocking the front steps.
It’s early in the morning. This is a rare empty car moment.
The cars with all of the stops are good. You don’t always get these.
Most cars will at least have this but I have been on some where it’s broken.
My plan was to get those fabulous blueberry pancakes at Clinton Street Baking Co. Then walk down the street to get a Katz to go for lunch.
It turns out Clinton Street Baking Co. doesn’t open for breakfast until 9am. That’s crazy to me. It’s just shy of 8:30 now. I know Katz is open early. Maybe I’ll get that to go order then walk back here. Or maybe I’ll just eat there and get something from there to go.
They just opened and this cutter already has $45 in his tip jar. I’m not buying it. He planted those tips.
That has to be the best Rueben ever.
The bread couldn’t hold all of that meat.
I also got a pastrami on rye to go. The two sandwiches were $58 total after tax. The last time I was here I was told they only take cash. I made sure I brought more than enough. This time they told me they take cash at the front or you can pay with a card in the back.
I guess the no billboard on the NY Stock Exchange didn’t last long. I must have caught it between billboards. It stinks for tourists who want to see the building.
Federal Hall.
I took pictures of the pastrami in the hotel because I wasn’t sure where I’d be eating it. Think that’ll be at the Newark airport. They triple wrapped it.
Next time we’re heading home.
