Venezia Transatlantic: Debarkation

on
October 2, 2023

We just docked at the Manhattan cruise terminal. For the pictures and videos of that as well as an impromptu Serenity Deck tour, please check out Venezia Transatlantic: Arrival in New York City.

Before I leave the room, let’s take a look at the ship cams and the in-room movies. I’ve actually watched a handful of the free movies over the past two weeks. They’ve added some since then. They just did a big dump of pay movies at the bottom yesterday. The ones with the green box are free. The others are $6.99.

There are only two ship cams.

The “aft cam” is really lido deck.

The TV channels haven’t changed yet. I was told they will be going to the normal Carnival channels in New York.

On this ship the glow in the dark sign for life vests is on the closet. I don’t like glow in the dark things while I’m sleeping so I covered it with duct tape.

I cracked a Heineken in the room this morning.

I have plans for today so I’m trying to get off of the ship as soon as possible.

I didn’t even notice the guy in front of me had a Saints lanyard on.

Just as I’m trying to get off of the ship they paused debarkation because a woman was trying to leave without settling her bill. This caused at least a five minute delay.

We have to go downstairs for customs and luggage. I am carrying my luggage off so I can skip that part.

After customs, just follow the signs.

This is where I messed up last time in New York. You can just walk across the street and order an Uber/Lyft. There were buses blocking this view when I got off of the ship last time. I took a left and ended up in a fenced-in area which delayed the arrival of my Lyft.

That is the fenced in area I was in last time. Don’t go down there. Just cross the street and you’re out of the port.
