Venezia Transatlantic: Arrival in New York City
Good morning! It’s 4am on the east coast and we are approaching New York. The weather looks pretty great today. It’s 66 degrees right now with a high of 78.
We are coming up on the Verrazzano-Narrows bridge which connects Staten Island to Brooklyn.
And we have passed the bridge.
I did pick this side of the ship because I knew I would be on the correct side to see the Statue of Liberty from my balcony. But I’m going to go to the front of the ship for that part.
Now we can zoom in and see the city skyline.
Crew members are beginning to gather in their area. That would be just outside of their crew bar.
Here we have the statue and the skyline. This is definitely a different perspective from your harbor tours and liberty island tours during the day.
Here are some Statue of Liberty shots.
And video passing the Statue of Liberty.
Brooklyn.
Manhattan.
We are cruising down the Hudson River to the port.
What stands out to me here is obviously the Empire State Building in the middle. But also on the far left you can see one of the New York Observatories I did last year. Edge at Hudson Yards. You can see that platform I was on hanging off of that building.
Let’s do a quick tour of the Serenity area while I’m here.
And we are pulling in. We are one spot down from USS Intrepid.
I’m going to head back to the room to get ready for debarkation.
