Super Bowl Magic: St. Kitts
Good morning from almost St. Kitts! It’s an early port day. The breakfast places on the ship open at 7. I’m supposed to be at the pier at 7:15 for my tour. I’m going to see what they have in the buffet.
Here is today’s Fun Times.
This is what the lido deck is looking like at 6am.
We’re in port with Celebrity Apex.
The continental breakfast opened at 6am. The hot breakfast and omelet station opened at 6:30. I’m going for an omelet.
This clown on the right is the epitome of my I don’t do buffets. When the bacon guy wasn’t standing there he reached half of his body through the buffet to grab the tongs from the server side, served himself, then dropped the tongs in the bacon when he was done. I was going to get bacon. Now I’m not.
I brought my omelet and some orange juice back to the room since I have a window with a view.
I got basically everything on my omelet.
The coffee line is reasonable.
The gangway is open. Rico sounds like he’s almost whispering. I wonder if that’s an attempt to not wake up people sleeping at 6:53am.
I’m heading off of the ship to meet my tour.
The first sign off the pier to the right is mine.
For full coverage of the tour, check out St. Kitts Scenic Railway. I’m going to skip ahead to after the tour now.
I just got off of the Scenic Railway Tour. The bathrooms where the shuttle drops you off cost $1. But if you go into the back of the food court area, they have free bathrooms.
I’m going for a souvenir.
I’m in search of a place with beer and free wifi. I tried this spot but the WiFi wasn’t working.
I started looking for bars on the second floor with wifi and a view. I found this one.
And it has a view.
Carib is 2 for $5 here. I had four.
The guy with the monkey is trying to sell drugs.
It’s a long line to get back on the ship. They are checking IDs very closely. A lady pulled us from the back and created a 3rd line so I didn’t have a long wait.
Celebrity Apex and Marella Explorer 2 in the background.
I am back on the ship. That is the bar I was at.
That looks like the Seaborn ship I saw in Juneau last year.
Nevis island. Alexander Hamilton was born there. Christopher Columbus named it Nevis because it looked like snow at the top and the Spanish word for snow is Nieves.
This is what they’re having in the buffet for lunch today.
They just put out a fresh tray of tostadas so I had to get a couple.
Mint cookies and cream cake.
I headed out to the Red Frog Rum bar for a bloody mary.
Minions 2 is on lido deck.
I headed back to The Tides bar for another bloody mary.
After that I grabbed a pina colada and headed upstairs.
I decided to spend some of my onboard credit on a lobster roll from Seafood Shack.
We had a pretty bad slip and fall back behind me by the steps. Allegedly the guy has been drinking and running in and out of the hot tub barefoot all day. The paramedics took him away. It sounded like he hurt his leg. He’s probably lucky he didn’t break his back.
Celebrity Apex is heading out.
Now we have a better look at Marella Explorer 2.
It started to rain but only lasted a few minutes.
I stepped out on the “secret deck” to catch the sunset.
Marella is on the move.
They have a silent disco in the atrium.
I headed down the the Alchemy Bar for opening but trivia is going on in Ocean Plaza and the bar is full.
I stepped into the Red Frog Pub and ordered a Red Stripe.
The Alchemy is still full so I headed up to lido deck to catch some of Top Gun: Maverick.
It started raining again and chaos ensued. I’m under the covered portion of the Red Frog Rum bar so I’m good.
We had intermittent rain.
I stopped by the room before dinner. The party is over on the “secret deck.”
My laundry has been delivered.
Country Road is on in the main lounge.
The duo is playing in the atrium.
The rock band is getting ready in Ocean Plaza.
It’s a packed house for Lenny Schmidt.
After comedy I headed to the dining room for dinner.
I’m starting off with a pirate punch.
Onion soup.
Caesar salad.
BBQ pork spareribs.
Chocolate melting cake.
I had to sacrifice one comedy show for dinner. I picked Derrick Eason’s PG show since I saw him last year.
I’m back in the comedy club after dinner. This is comedy host Stu.
Lenny Schmidt.
Wakanda is the movie on lido now.
It’ll be interesting to see how many show up for the 10:45 comedy show. We have another early port day tomorrow.
It’s a decent crowd but not so much that I couldn’t get a good seat at showtime.
Comedy host Stu.
Derrick Eason.
The ship is dead other than the casino. I’m sure it’s due to the early port day tomorrow. I’m off to bed.
