Super Bowl Magic: Embarkation
I just came in on the 11am Carnival Transfer from MCO. We arrived at 12:05 and are waiting as our luggage is being unloaded and organized by deck. We can’t leave the bus until that is complete. For full coverage of the transfer, please visit Carnival Transportation: MCO to Port Canaveral.
The good thing about arriving at the port at this time is I should be able to walk right onto the ship and it shouldn’t be long before my room is ready.
At check-in I had to show my COVID-19 vaccination card since we are going to Grand Turk which currently requires cruisers to be vaccinated.
At first I thought they were taking pictures up there. They are actually being lined up for a drug dog.
Recent reviews have indicated this is happening at multiple ports in an attempt to crack down on drug usage aboard the ships.
It was smooth sailing after that. I would imagine this is where we would be waiting for boarding had I gotten here earlier.
This is the picture spot.
This part looks a lot like the entrance to the Port of New Orleans.
This is looking down at the waiting area, check-in, and security from upstairs.
We can see the ship from here.
This is an extremely long hallway to the ramp. I’m passing all of these people on the right. I’ll end up behind the guy with the black backpack who is blocking the passing lane.
The ramp is also one of those long, zig zag ramps.
My room was ready upon boarding. It’s a pretty big room. We’ll cover this and the rest of Day 1 on Carnival Magic next time.
