Super Bowl Magic: Day 8

on
May 8, 2023

Good morning! Today is the last day of the cruise.

Here is today’s Fun Times.

The coffee line is fairly long and out in the aisle this morning.

I decided just to hit the secret coffee in the atrium instead.

I love that they have these events that draw crowds of people away from the places I’m going.

Then I went to the bloody mary.

I took my drinks into the main lounge for The Wave morning show hosted by Cruise Director Rico.

Up next in here is towel folding fun hosted by Stu.

I’m going to skip that party and head to brunch.

I’m grabbing a regular black coffee to take with me. Always save that cardboard from the mocha because these are always three times as hot for some reason. It helps to double up.

I stopped in the casino and picked up a screwdriver while I’m waiting for my table.

They got my table right this time.

The magician from Chef’s Table is entertaining tables at brunch.

A waiter almost dropped an entire tray of empty plates. It got down to waist level and he saved it. Then he did a look around to see if anyone saw it. Everyone else is caught up in their own conversations. I can see it on his face he thinks he’s in the clear. Then he gets around to me with a big grin on my face…

My food just arrived. I’m still waiting on bacon. I’ve been in here 40 minutes. I ordered my eggs over easy.

When he brought the bacon, I told him about the eggs.

I screwed up moving the bacon to my big plate. It was good crispy bacon. I thought they’d just bring me eggs. He took the whole plate. And now this bacon isn’t crispy.

After brunch I finally got around to using my $25 free play chip. I played some blackjack. Got up to 220, down to 100, up to 175, down under 100, up to 150, and eventually down to 0.

I headed up to the lido deck to Groove for St. Jude and got a banana daquiri at the Red Frog Rum bar.

I found this on the way back to my room.

My laundry has arrived.

I stepped out on the secret deck. It’s still pretty windy out here.

I’m heading up to the Serenity Deck.

Walking around Serenity there are eight loungers and 12 of those wooden sets available on the port side and 4 loungers and 8 of those wooden seats on the starboard side. I think everything else is spoken for.

I got a pina colada at the Serenity Bar.

This is an afternoon look at the zone tag availability.

I stopped by the Pig & Anchor BBQ for some beef, andouille sausage, and mac & cheese.

Yesterday I was talking about the downside to my room location. This is it.

I headed to the Tides Bar for a mudslide.

I need to figure out how to handle tomorrow. I have a late flight. I was hoping the ship would offer an excursion that ends at the airport. They had several for Miami, but none for Port Canaveral. I think my options are to use some of my OBC on an airport transfer. 9:30 is the latest one I can book. Or I can stay on the ship until last call. Maybe by then the nearest restaurant is open for lunch. Then I can wait for an optimal time to take an Uber/Lyft to the airport.

Holy smoke. I’m in the Red Frog Rum bar. This is a Caribbean Cream something.

I stopped by the casino to use up some onboard credit.

This was the high point.

After that I played some more blackjack. I was up, down, up, down again. I thought I was leaving even but I miscounted and pulled out a 10 buck win.

I was just in the bathroom and I hope that was a fun squad member at the next urinal. Wearing pink leotard and a wig.

I’m going to even out that spicy with fun ship.

I headed up to lido deck and went back to the bloody mary.

Then I went to the White Russian.

What are the odds that I’m using the bathroom by the theater now and someone occupies the next urinal wearing a pink leotard and wig?

Flick is being performed in the main lounge.

I headed back to the comedy club for Lenny Schmidt’s show. He’s the best comedian of this cruise for me.

I ordered a White Russian.

This will be my last of the cruise.

The rock band is in Ocean Plaza.

The 80’s Rock ‘N Glow party is happening in the atrium.

My table is ready.

This is tonight’s menu.

This is a disappointing Cobb Salad. There’s supposed to be a hard boiled egg in there. I had such a good one last year on the Glory. I ordered it on another ship last year and they never delivered it. This time it’s just not right.

Shrimp.

The beef short ribs are always good.

Baked Alaska.

I received 2’s for luggage but I don’t think I’m going to use them. I’m not in a hurry so I’ll save my 2’s for a rainy day…or a good offer.

I have a lot of 4’s so I used one of them.

I brought my suitcase down to the luggage people.

Then I headed down to the comedy club for Lenny Schmidt’s final show of the cruise.

I’m heading back to the room. The rock band is playing in Ocean Plaza and the duo is in the atrium.

Tomorrow is debarkation day. Good night.
