Super Bowl Magic: Day 3
Good morning! When I woke up at 6:30 I looked outside. The sun was already up so I thought I’d see if I could get some more sleep. I slept another hour and a half. I feel well rested now.
Here is a look at today’s Fun Times.
I’m not going to be thrilled if they have this taped off the whole cruise.
It must be T-shirt sale day.
I got in the coffee line. These two ladies in front of me are in their own world not moving with the line. It was to the point where I had to ask them if they were in line. I had to take the line out of the middle of the walkway as well.
The Cat in the Hat parade just started in Ocean Plaza.
Dr. Seuss is on the loose.
They churn out the coffee pretty quick here. Of course I think they have 3-4 people working it.
I requested a table and got a screwdriver while I was waiting.
This is the crowd.
Of course they tried to give me another shared table and I had to move.
Skillet cake.
Bacon and brunch potatoes. I’m trying the brunch potatoes for the first time. They’re good. I like the hash browns but I may go to brunch potatoes on sea days and keep hash browns on port days just to change it up.
Cheese grits.
After brunch I stopped by the atrium bar for a bloody mary. I was thinking St. Maarten highlights were in the theater but it’s actually in the comedy club.
The St. Maarten Highlights was just shopping highlights. How boring was it? My left leg fell asleep.
I got another bloody mary.
The stampede at the T-Shirt sale has died down enough for me to show you what they have.
These used to be 2/$20. At some point they went up to 2/$30.
I stopped at Pixels to pick up my pin and koozie. We should have a new selection of gifts by my next cruise.
I also found this.
No sign. No tape.
It’s still extremely windy!
People are getting ready for elegant night.
It seems eggstremely late for breakfast…
Lido is looking pretty packed.
They have the lunch menus out. I may have to grab some jalapeño cheese fritters when they open.
I got a mudslide at the Tides Bar.
A preview of the cakes.
I waited in a long line for this. This is where the newer ships are nice with the stations. I can just walk up and grab them with out waiting behind 10 people fixing their salads.
Looks like everyone is comfortable.
Out on the lido we have pool games going on. This is an open mic competition.
I got a Toasted Amber at the Rum Bar.
Now they have a singing competition. It came down to a lady and a little girl. The lady let the little girl win.
It’s still windy but not as bad as earlier.
I just got a reminder call about The Chef’s Table tonight. He also reminded me it’s elegant night. I hope they don’t give me any trouble about my clothes. When I signed up it said dress casual. A polo and jeans is the best I can do.
I got a banana daiquiri at the Serenity bar.
Then I got a Dos Equis.
I’m ready for Alchemy opening.
A creamy coconut drink from Maria.
Fortunately Alchemy opened 30 minutes before trivia so instead of Alchemy people showing up with no place to sit, trivia people are showing up looking around like “who are all these people in the seats not playing trivia.”
Aleksandra is working on something that looks pretty good.
This lady next to me is like trying to play matchmaker with Aleksandra and a brew master on Vista.
This is really good too!
This one is from Monica.
Supposedly there was a towel animal takeover at the Super Bowl halftime show.
They had the TV theme song trivia so we had some fun with that. But now they’re about to do fairy tales so that’s probably going to be less fun.
One guy at the bar was saying there were fights at the casino bar during the Super Bowl but when pressed for details it seems they were just arguments.
One more and then I’m going to get ready for Chef’s Table.
A look at the fresh Seafood prices at the Seafood Shack.
Caribbean steel drum music.
I am skipping ahead after dinner now. For full coverage of that check out Chef’s Table on Carnival Magic.
Here is what they had in the main dining room tonight.
I just returned from the Chef’s table. My steward did evening service. Most likely because I left the Snoozin sign on all day until I left for The Chef’s Table.
The Woman King is on lido. This was my #1 fall movie. I highly recommend it.
America Rocks is happening in the theater.
Soul of Violin is playing Back in Black.
The duo that is usually in the atrium is in Ocean Plaza tonight because the rock band plays in America Rocks.
It’s standing room only for Jason Andors in the comedy club.
As soon as one opened up, I grabbed a seat at the bar for the next show.
Comedy host Stu.
Julie Scoggins.
I’m off to bed. Tomorrow we’re in St. Maarten.
