Summer Jubilee: Roatan

on
March 24, 2025

Good morning! It’s a good thing I’m not sharing a bed with anyone.

Here are today’s Fun Times

We are docked in Roatan with Carnival Paradise.

I went ahead and grabbed a water to take ashore with my screwdriver.

I had no problem getting a water and a screwdriver together on Lido. At the Marina bar I had to wait five minutes between a coffee and a screwdriver again.

I had a problem with the Wi-Fi network last night. I kept getting kicked off of the network and had to reconnect. It’s happened three times this morning.

I got the broken egg sandwich and French toast.

I just overheard this guy I met at the Alchemy telling someone the lift to the beach takes an hour. I’ve never done it myself, but that sounds a bit off. I have since been told it takes 10 minutes. He’s a know it all but really doesn’t know anything.

This is the most crowded I’ve ever seen the beach. There are no chairs available. There is no room to even put a towel down on the beach. I just turned around and left.

I decided to walk the nature trail since I’ve never done it.

And the trail ends by the duty free shop. There wasn’t much to see on the trail other than different views of the ship.

I guess I’m just getting back on the ship.

Serenity Bar is closed.

These beds were all taken yesterday.

Hello! Empty hot tub!

I had it alone for a few minutes then I got celebrity company.

I hung out for about an hour until the hot tub got too crowded. Then I went looking for lunch at Big Chicken.

After lunch I grabbed a Caribbean Colada from the bar.

Trolls Band Together is on the big screen.

Mai Tai from the Tiki Bar.

We’re open on a port day. At least there’s scenery at this port.

Tennis and Soccer are on in the Hero’s Lounge.

I’m going to grab a bloody mary.

Then I stepped outside to the Watering Hole for a Watermelon Crush.

Big Bock

It was nice while it lasted.

Sturgis

They just brought out a fresh tray of chicken kebab so I’m going to try it. It’s good but I like Steam Dream better.

When the Alchemy bar opened, I headed there for some martinis.

This is blue curacao, amaretto, vanilla vodka, coconut, and chocolate.

Julian Is teaching Franco the French kiss and the deal closer. Franco says I’ll be good at the French kiss. I say so you can’t close the deal? It got a positive reaction from the bar.

This looks sweet but it’s a spicy one. It was good. Kind of sweet in the mouth and spicy in the throat. But not too spicy.

Pande is on. This is her coconut rum drink.

I  got a martini to take to dinner. I don’t like that pande is sticking me with the regular olives and I don’t find out until the end.

Arancini

Nonas meatballs. Which we know is only one. But we only know that because we’ve been here before. They should call it Nona’s meatball. Now if they called it the John Kruck balls or the Tom Green balls, then we’d expect one.

Linguine and clams

This is the apple pie dessert.

I got excited when I saw a Moretti mini keg on my way in. I drank a lot of Moretti on Venezia but haven’t had one since. Unfortunately they said it’s flat and I had to go with Peroni.

I thought I still had drinks left but I was wrong. I wish they would put it back on the receipts. I’m going to have to start keeping a notepad.

I walk into Percy crews 2 show and it’s like Jersey last night.

My spot is unoccupied.

“Haha Helen”

Percy Crews 2

I stepped in the theater for Guess That Groove. It’s not my thing.

I decided to go back to Percy Crews next show. This time there’s nobody standing on the far side. So now that I’ve stood here a couple times I’ve learned a trick that I’ll use this time and not feel bad about since I’m the only one over here.

See those two empty chairs with the white covers? As soon as she announces the comedian they’re going to become available and I’ll slide in.

The Adult Game Show is still around. I guess it’s only as good as the hosts. It went from standing room only to half empty.

I always try to abide by the etiquette of allowing people off of the elevator before you get on. But the problem is there are now a bunch of people who stand by the buttons and hit the door close button if nobody immediately gets on. So now I’ve been hit by elevator doors about three times this week because I waited to see if anyone was getting off and while I was waiting someone hit the door close button.

I’m off to bed. Tomorrow we’re in Costa Maya.
