Summer Jubilee: Cozumel
Good morning from Cozumel! Today is the final port day of the cruise which makes today towel animal takeover day on the lido deck. Those towels are getting soaked because we’re getting a lot of rain!
Here are today’s Fun Times
Guy at bar: Spice up my drink
bartender: Oh spicy?
Guy at bar: No with liquor
bartender: Oh your drink already have a lot of liquor. I want you to drink your drink.
Guy at bar: You want to drink my drink?
bartender: I want you to drink your drink
Guy at bar: You want to drink my drink?
Carnival Horizon is coming in.
She’s a long way from home.
Broken egg sandwich
French toast
I have 15 minutes until excursion start time. Had to run to the room to grab my ticket. I needed to go down 16 to 3 so I hopped on an elevator. These kids were hitting every button. I got off at 10 and walked down.
My ticket said to meet by sign 5.
For full coverage of the tour please visit Lucha Libre in Cozumel. I’m going to skip ahead to after the tour.
I just got dropped off from my tour. I’m going to head back on the ship.
I don’t know if there are any ships downtown but it’s just us and Horizon at Puerta Maya. There’s one Royal ship at the international pier.
Kung Fu Panda 4 is on the big screen.
I just got chicken strips from Big Chicken.
The pools are closed due to lightning in the area.
I stepped inside for a Bloody Mary.
This must be the 32-ounce mason jar. It’s a $9 refill which is a good price if you’re paying by the drink.
I stepped out to the Watering Hole for a Watermelon Crush.
Then back inside for a Big Bock.
Golf and tennis are on in the Hero’s Lounge.
The pools are back open.
That hat is on clearance. I wonder why. “Buy a hat like that I bet you get a free bowl of soup. Oh, It looks good on you though.”
I got another Big Bock.
They get me on this every once in awhile. I say “Oh Cucina is open for lunch on a port day?” Then I realize it’s smoke and mirrors…mostly mirrors…
I bet that could’ve been a cool view of Horizon if the window was open.
Today’s Street Eats:
I got the shrimp and spinach potstickers.
I’m sending off my last load of laundry this cruise.
We are sailing away.
It looks like they had another build-a-bear event in the Limelight Lounge.
The Alchemy Bar was full but I weaseled my way in for a filthy martini from Pande.
A place at the table. Pande looked at my drink count and asked where I hung out before this. I’m like…Tides, Marina, Pig & Anchor, Watering Hole, Tiki Bar…
Brianna asked me for my next drink and I was ready to change things up so I asked for her strawberry drink from last night.
I got a different strawberry drink this time.
This is a kiwi drink.
I headed to the Punchliner for the Percy Crews 2 show.
The Residency is playing in Grand Central.
The Love & Marriage show is about to start in the theater.
I headed back to the Punchliner for Manny Acosta’s adult comedy show.
“Haha Helen”
Manny Acosta
I’m catching some Love & Marriage while waiting for my dinner table. I requested it 20 minutes ago. It was a 40-50 minute wait at the time. Now it’s 20-30.
On my way to dinner the line for the Percy Crews 9pm PG show was insane. That was at 8:30. I have to go there right after this to get in line for his 10pm. Assuming I get out of here before 10pm. I didn’t order a dessert so that should help.
This lady is sort of next to but behind me is sitting alone at a table for four waiting on her party. The waiter is bringing my food and this guy runs up to him points at her and screams NO CELL PHONES! No cell phones in the dining room. No cell phones.
The waiter said that it’s not against the rules. She invited him to her table. He’s lucky he didn’t come screaming at me like that.
I got in line at 9:30 for the 10pm show but it wasn’t necessary. 10 till and there are still some seats in here.
It is pretty full now though.
Godzilla X Kong
I stepped down to the main theater for the late night comedy showcase.
The Beekeeper
Occasionally you’ve got to step on a kid or two on this ship. Fine, whatever. It’s water off a duck’s back. But that was ridiculous.
It’s 12:30 am. I’m taking the less crowded midship elevators up to the room 7 to 16. I’m listening for the ding not the ding dong. Ding is up. Ding dong is down. This time its a ding dong. Elevator opens. It’s going down. The other people get in it. I think some of them may have been uppers. A lot of people on this ship are getting into down elevators to go up on a regular basis. That’s how the elevator situation has been this week.
I’m the only one in the lobby now so I’m feeling good about my chances. I’m listening and I get the ding. Elevator opens and about eight kids are in it. I’m guessing 8-10 years old. They’re sitting on the floor of the elevator with their backs against the wall and their feet in the middle. They don’t have any buttons pushed. They’re just hanging out there.
I think they were expecting me to wait for another elevator. I was expecting them to let me in that one. When they didn’t, I made room for myself. It’s crazy that kids are allowed to run wild on these ships that late.
Tomorrow is a sea day. Good night!
