Spirit: Debarkation
Good morning! Today is debarkation day. I’m driving home so I’m not in a big hurry. The first announcement from Rico was at 6:45 that we had docked but didn’t have clearance yet.
They said to turn your app on for notifications. The only ones I got are that the casino was open. It’s not.
At 7:03 they called group D express debarkation. At 7:23 they called E & F.
At 7:31 they called group G express. They started with luggage tags 1 & 2.
They called H & J express and luggage tags 1-5 at 7:40
I finished packing, left my bags in the room, requested a breakfast table, and went for coffee.
At 7:49 they called I & K express and luggage tags 1-6.
After I got coffee I checked the app and my table was assigned.
There was an announcement at 7:55 but I couldn’t hear it in the dining room. It sounds more like the captain than Rico to me.
There’s another announcement at 8:05 that I can’t hear.
At 8:15 they gave us a reminder to check out of our rooms by 8:30.
Here are the TV channels in the room.
I’ve also been getting ESPN on channel 8. That’s very unusual because Carnival removed ESPN from the rooms years ago.
All express zones have been called. They’re adding luggage tags 16-17. They must’ve called 6-15 while I was eating.
Here are the ship cams.
I checked out of the room at 8:25.
At 8:28 they’re calling all guests.
I am off of the ship at 8:34.
Rico makes the final call at 8:36.
The family in front of me should’ve checked their luggage. That guy with two suitcases keeps holding the line up.
It’s 8:38 now and we ran into a bit of a bottle neck here. The reason why is inside there’s an elevator line and an escalator line. The elevator line is long and backing everything up. There is no escalator line but we can’t get to it because of the elevator line.
Luggage is to the right. If you have your luggage go left. They split passports and birth certificates and said if you have a passport you don’t need it.
There was no line for facial recognition. I’m exiting the port at 8:43.
At 8:45 I’m in the garage elevator line. It’s pretty long but they have one elevator for each level. You line up accordingly. That elevator just goes to one floor and comes back. It’s very organized.
I was off of the elevator at 8:50.
After debarkation I headed over to the USS Alabama. You can read about that at USS Alabama and USS Alabama – Lower Decks.
Next time we’re going to the ABC islands on Carnival Horizon.
