Spirit: Day 8
Good morning! Today is a sea day and the last day of the cruise. We ran into some rough waters early this morning. Things rocking and rolling around 4am and I’m not talking about music. We are starting to get back into the cooler temperature zone.
Here are today’s Fun Times.
The whistling door was open. I’m thinking someone got tired of the whistling and opened it.
Interesting. Jubilee changed their Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast to a Thing 1/2 Birthday Breakfast. I guess that isn’t fleet wide.
What’s the difference?
I don’t know
I can’t tell you
because I didn’t go
We’re passing St. Petersburg, Florida.
The main coffee shop line is only one deep. I’m going to try the chocolate lover’s.
I’ll definitely have to add this to my port day repertoire when I know I won’t hit 15 drinks.
Here is a look at the Skybox Sports Bar.
And the casino.
I’m going to step outside and take a walk around.
Now I’m up on deck 10.
It looks like all of the serenity clamshells were taken by 8am.
I finished my coffee and headed down to the Rum Bar for a screwdriver or three.
A lady comes up to the bar. Nepa asks how she’s doing. She says “not too good there’s a gas leak in our room.”
I say you should watch what you eat at night.
I got another screwdriver to take to breakfast.
There is a morning show today 9:30. I didn’t see one on the schedule yesterday.
The 2 for $30 t-shirt sale is on lido deck. On the bigger ships you see it by the Fun Shops.
I like that people are waiting for their brunch table in the Alchemy Bar area. Nobody is camped out in front of the dining room or on the steps today.
I’m trying the 12-hr French toast for a third time. The first two times it has been undercooked. They have one this shape on NCL–Cinnamon French toast. It’s smaller than this one and cut in half. That probably makes it easier to cook the inside.
in the event it is bad I ordered enough other stuff to be good.
It looks good!
I think they just finished up towel folding.
The Wave morning show with Rico.
I’m switching to a spicy bloody mary.
I put my fun play on one hand of blackjack and lost. That wasn’t much fun at all.
We’re roped off again. It looks like they’re washing the deck.
Now it’s starting to rain.
There are a couple bathrooms around this ship where it has that room between the bathroom and the outside. And the door opens inward. If your timing is really bad you can get smacked by an overzealous restroom patron. I just keep my guard up and make sure if it pops open, I’m not the one getting hit by it.
They have a hula hoop contest on lido.
The most interesting bathroom is the Serenity bathroom. When you walk in there is a line of three urinals to the left and two sinks to the right with very little space between them. Then on the other side of the sinks is a hand dryer with is in the line of fire of a stall door.
When three or more are in there it takes a series of coordinated movements for everyone to get in and out.
I’m in there directing traffic. “Stay in the urinal while I slide out. You move by the door so I can get by. Urinal guy move to the sink. Sink guy move to the dryer. Nobody open the stall door. Door guy move to the sink. Sink guy move to the urinal. Dryer guy slide out, etc.”
This is the creamsicle drink I saw someone get yesterday morning.
I just walked through the buffet back to Serenity and I counted 9 tables in use for cards or dominos just on that one side. It’s going to be tough to find a lunch spot today.
This is a White Russian.
I ran into some Alchemy people at the Serenity Bar and got to talking so my lunch is a little later than I originally planned.
There are no places to sit in the buffet or Blue Iguana Cantina areas so I continued down to the Tequila Bar.
Let’s take a look at the chocolate extravaganza.
After lunch I headed down to the theater for the Q&A with Cruise Director Rico. I hate that they do these right before bingo. You have to fight through a mob of people buying bingo cards to get in here. And they don’t care about the Q&A so they’re very loud.
They didn’t do it this way on NCL or Princess. Bingo was on the other side of the ship on Princess. I was never around it. Their CD Q&A ended with us getting to tour backstage of the theater stage. And other than us the theater was empty.
Apparently Cruise Directors have a balcony on Spirit class ships. Rico is a big fan of it.
Last nights show cancellation was due to a member of the technical team being sick.
After the Q&A I headed down to Alchemy for dirty martinis.
The Chiefs couple is here out of uniform.
It’s Igor’s birthday so we sang to him.
This is my last drink of the cruise.
I stopped by the room to change for dinner. My laundry has arrived.
I requested a change to Orlin’s section and I’m just waiting on that. I don’t know what’s up by that girl is crying profusely in the corner.
I got it.
These people have been standing in the aisle having a conversation for at least 20 minutes. I could tell my dining team wasn’t happy. And if my dining team isn’t happy, I’m not happy. Fortunately they left before I had to throw them out.
Platinum and Diamond can ignore this alert. Hopefully they’ll get it fixed one day.
After dinner I headed to the farewell party in the atrium.
This guy was one of the main characters in last nights adult game show. I saw him in the dining room. He complimented my trivium shirt. I told him “I didn’t see you do anything last night.” He said “No you didn’t. Nothing.
The main entertainment was again canceled for tonight so we’re just having one 30-minute comedy showcase in the theater just like last night.
Comedy host Krish.
Daniel Dugar
Keith Nelson
I had heard rumors but there is definitely security guarding a room on deck 1. At least they gave him a chair.
I’m off to bed. Tomorrow is debarkation day.
