Seward Museum

The Seward Museum is located on the lower floor of the library in downtown Seward. Children 12 and under get in free. The cost is $5 for everyone else. It is closed on Monday, open from 9-5 on Saturday, 1-4 on Sunday, and 9-6 all other days.

They do have a restrictive luggage policy. It looks like you can get a backpack in or maybe a very small rolling luggage. I can understand why. There isn’t a lot of floor space in the museum.

Let’s take a look at the history of Seward.

This is behind my hotel.

I’m going to try gold panning in Juneau this trip.

The people in the museum were very nice and appreciative of the business. They gave me this walking tour map. I never got time to do the full official tour, but I think I hit most of them on my own.

I thought this was a good way to spend an hour. Especially if there’s bad weather outside. The only issue is the luggage situation. If you’re looking for something to do before checking into your hotel or Airbnb, you’ll need to figure out what to do with large bags. This is why I switched from an Airbnb to a hotel. The hotel would be able to store my bags until check-in while the Airbnb would not.
