Good morning! I haven’t heard a peep out of the people next door since our 2am confrontation the other day. I’ve been able to sleep through the last two nights with no noise.

Here is a look at today’s schedule of events.

And the weather.

I’m not getting any laundry done this trip but this is the price list.

I’m going to grab some fuel and see what kind of pastries they have this morning.

I went with a cinnamon roll and a muffin.

Just as I’m finishing my first bloody mary, the server comes over, looks at me and says “it is buffet.” I guess he thought I was sitting here waiting for someone to bring me a menu or something. He must not know that I’m mostly here for the breakfast bar.

I decided to check out the buffet. I’ve been eyeballing these all week. I might as well try them.

I had my room cleaned this morning. I was down to my last towel. Yesterday I left my beer cans out on the swim out. I was going to bring them in this morning and put them with the water bottles for housekeeping but they were gone. So between 7pm-7am someone came and picked those up. If I would’ve known they were going to do that I would’ve brought them in last night.

I’m really impressed with how quickly they clean the room. I put out the sign, go to breakfast, and when I come back it’s done.

I stopped by the scene bar for a dark pina colada from Jesus.

I asked Jesus if there was an underground city below the resort. He said they just have passageways for employees to move around without walking across the resort.

If you look at this one, which is below Guys burgers, it looks like there are steps going up into Guys. So employees could come and go without guests seeing them. I had been wondering because there’s one of these on the other side of the resort as well. 

This is a rainbow shot from Jesus. The ingredients are blue curacao, malibu, orange juice and grenadine.

This is a bumblebee shot from Jesus. The ingredients are coffee liqueur, egg nog liqueur, and blue curacao mixed with something I forgot.

From Jesus a banana colada add in that Italian liqueur Frangelico. It’s really good. Mad Max stopped by and talked to Jesus for a minute. He looks like he’s dressed for a beach bar today.

I just saw Dallas Jenn. I haven’t seen her since a week ago at this bar when she was checking in. They are checking out today. She mentioned she had Braza last night. She had her issues there as well. Apparently she only got two meats (chicken and steak) I don’t think I ever got chicken. And she never got the cheesy garlic bread. It’s a good restaurant. Its Just a matter of getting everything. And you have to deal with the buffet part of it.

The only drink I haven’t had off Of the premier menu other than the two i said I wasn’t going to have is gorillas in the mist, which seems like a dessert drink. Maybe I’ll have one tonight.

It figures the weak applause would happen when I’m here. This is a new arrival.

One more Guy Burger.

It’s not crowded. There’s no line. There’s a table for six, a table for two, and a table for one that came in after me.

Here’s something different I noticed. Earlier in the week the burgers had coleslaw instead of lettuce, which is something I’ve seen Guy do on TV, but they don’t do at Guy’s on the Carnival ships. Today it’s lettuce. The buns are definitely better than on a ship. They remind me of Fuddruckers buns. I also enjoyed the cole slaw instead of lettuce more.

After lunch I found a new place to watch a baseball game. On my phone at the lazy river bar.

While I’m wet I’ll just go ahead and get in the ocean.

I’m heading back to the room. Here is a look at the Star Class pool on the way.

I’m going to watch the rest of the game in my swim out.

During the show last night a lady plastered all over facebook that her son was missing from the resort. I think he’s 17 or 18. It turns out he just fell asleep in a cabana on the beach. So just because he fell asleep, his picture was plastered all over the internet. That’s why you don’t bring mom on vacation.

I need to remember to pick my cans up today. I don’t need an employee feeling like they have to pick them up for me like last time. 

I’m going to shower and get ready for dinner. They put a reminder on the TV that I have to leave tomorrow.

Sutra and East are both closed tonight. If I would’ve looked at the schedule and planned a little better I could’ve done East last night and Gusto tonight. Sutra and the OT sports bar are going to be the only places I haven’t eaten here.

I’m going with the steakhouse.

They gave me the Spanish menu. It’s the same as last week except now the special is salmon and rice.

I got the sliders.

And the filet.

Cheesecake for dessert. They didn’t offer me dessert when I was in here last week.

I laid down after dinner and fell asleep. I woke up about midnight and started getting some packing done. I was still dressed for dinner so I stepped out to see what’s happening at midnight. It was just a bunch of loud obnoxious drunk people by the twist bar and karaoke in the sports bar. I went back to bed.

Good Morning! I’m leaving this morning but it’s okay. I’m going to Cozumel soon and the Barcelo Maya Riviera after that.

People….sometimes aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed. Sometimes they take the Fuel line towards the side door instead of straight back and it causes the side door to open. The person in front of me today has done that and every time she leans right it opens. But she continues to do it.

I think I got enough coffee. I didn’t want to make any additional trips. They have lids for occasions like this but two snapped while I was putting them on. They are very cheap lids.

This is how I’ve handled the mask on mask off situation. I have masks on lanyards. If I’m going to be going into a restaurant while I’m out, I throw one around my neck. We don’t have to wear them outdoors which is where we spend most of our time.

Back to tools and doors. There are the automatic double doors that separate the adult side from the family side. The other night I was going to dinner and when I came though the doors there was a lady standing about 15 feet back. She looks at me and says “Oh, I was wondering how I was going to get through there.”

I was able to get two of my favorite Fuel pastries this morning. The chocolate croissant and the chocolate chip muffin.

I was thinking maybe those pastries won’t be enough of a breakfast. I may not eat again until dinner. My ride is at 9:10. My flight is at 1 and I get in at 4pm. I went ahead and ordered a room service breakfast. They told me it would be 40 minutes. The last time they said that it was only 15 minutes. Well it’s been an hour now and still nothing. I don’t know if I’ll even have time to eat if they do get here. I need to head out in 15 minutes. 

Maybe they will have an amazing taco stand at the airport. I don’t know. All I saw on the way in was a mobile bar and 500 tour agencies.

I got an Instagram message from Mad Max. He wanted me to come by the family lobby bar tomorrow to do some fancy flaming drink. It’s too bad I’m leaving. 

My ride is here. It’s less fancy than the one I arrived in. I feel like Brewster’s Millions where he comes in rich and leaves poor.

They still have Wifi even though I’m not in the fancy car.

But they make you fill out a form.

The weather fits the mood.

When you check out they cut the bracelet off and keep it. I saw some people wanting to buy Star Class bracelets online. I’m sure that’s exactly why they cut them off and keep them.

I saw someone online complaining about these charges. I don’t think they actually charged those. $18 of the 32 is the flip flops I bought. When I checked out they said they were only charging me $18. I noticed I had an $11 charge when I checked in that they said that was environmental.

I ended up having to wait in line for a kiosk. Only two of them have Spirit on them.

Starbucks and Wolfgang Puck. Exactly what I had in mind.

I’m in the bag drop line now.

They needed my passport and the immigration form I filled out when I arrived.

The bag drop girl needed my passport, negative COVID test, and she had me fill out another form saying I had a negative test.

She liked my “El Guapo San Greg” bag tag.

Two hours until boarding time. Now we’re talking.

I’m not going to need to worry about being hungry on the plane now.

The great thing about a blog site is I get to go on vacation again.

I’m glad I got here when I did. That bag line is crazy now.

I get to the security line. The guy asks for my COVID form. I give him the one the lady at bag drop had me fill out. He says “not that one” and gives me another one. With teeny tiny writing. After waiting in that line I had to get out and fill this form out.

Now the line to get to the security lines is much longer. I went to the back of the line but a bunch of other people just merged in front of the people in front of me.

I got in the shorter security line but I ended up with the Brady bunch in front of me–Going through their passports and boarding passes was time consuming.

Surprise you have to make your way through a huge duty fee shopping area to get to the gates.

Now that’s an airline!

Did you see what I saw? Still time for a souvenir.

Plenty of food places here. Mostly American food options. I’m happy with where I chose to eat.

No such luck with the middle seat this time. I’m going to have a neighbor.

I love the cheap in-flight Wifi options.

Alright this flight attendant. I was typing something on my phone when she started the exit row briefing. She gets right in my face and says “look up here.” At the end of it we all have to confirm that we are willing and able to help. We all say yes together. She gets in my face again. “Was that a yes?” Yes. I said yes with everyone else.

If we do need to use the exit doors, it’s going to be all on me. The couple next to me aren’t helping with anything. He’s still in his pajamas with his slippers on. She may be as well. She’s wrapped in a blanket with the neck pillow and the eye mask…the whole bit.

After getting in my face twice the flight attendant proceeded to play on her phone for 30 minutes including during takeoff.

My favorite flight attendant is doing all kinds of shifting of her personal belongings in the over head compartment in front of me. She even stepped up on the arm rest of the seat in front of me to reach something in the back. Now when that guy gets back from the bathroom he’s going to have no clue the bottom of her shoes were on his arm rest.

Now we’re comfortable.

An amber alert went off right when we landed. Good thing everyone had their electronic devices off.

I got put in the slow immigration lane. So many people that were behind me are long gone now. Thankfully they just opened another line.

I moved to the new line. All he did was take my picture and ask if I brought anything back. Something must be really wrong with the lady that is holding up the other line.

We were told baggage claim 2 but it’s actually 4. It seems like they always get that wrong.

I don’t think this is our flight’s luggage because it’s all out and nobody’s bags are here.

Dude. Someone did not like my El Guapo San Greg tags. It’s a good thing I also had the duct tape on my bag!

The phonetic alphabet doesn’t always work at the airport.

“Yes I need a shuttle at terminal D.”

”That’s terminal B?”

”No, terminal D as in Delta”

”Sir Delta is terminal E.”

It took about 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive but we’re rolling.

This shuttle goes to two hotels. The driver announces the hotel and says “everyone else stay on board.” I thought it’s pretty clear where we are. Who would get off at the wrong hotel? Guess what? Someone got off at the wrong hotel. The same girl that tripped getting into the shuttle.

And we made it. Next time we’re going to Cozumel.
