New Orleans Hotel Review: Sheraton Four Points

on
August 3, 2020

If you want to be right in the middle of the Bourbon Street action in New Orleans, Sheraton Four Points is one of your better hotel options. Just a few blocks from Jackson Square, Sheraton Four Points is walking distance from all of the French Quarter tourist sites and a mile and a half drive to the cruise port.

Sheraton Four Points is on the high end when it comes to hotel parking in New Orleans. I bought cruise parking at Fulton Garage and also booked hotel parking with them prior to the start of my cruise. Instead of paying $45 to park at Sheraton, I paid $20 at Fulton and took a Streetcar to Canal/Bourbon Street.

Here is a look at the Bourbon Street side of the hotel.

This hotel actually sits on the site of the old French Opera House which burned down in 1919.

Here is a look at the front desk. This hotel does not offer a free breakfast in the morning but they do have coffee in the lobby.

This is the Puccini Bar. As I mentioned this hotel is on the site of the old French Opera House. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month they have a 7pm performance here featuring vocalists from the New Orleans Opera Association.

Here is a look at the room. I have the courtyard view which is more economical than the Bourbon Street balcony. They do provide ear plugs but noise has never been an issue for me in this hotel.

This room has a view of the pool and parking area.

This will give you a better look at the pool area.

The fitness center is open 24 hours.

For breakfast I’m taking a short walk to Cafe Du Monde.

I got an order of beignets and a cafe au lait.

After breakfast I took a little walk by the river. I ran into some cruisers that were heading in the wrong direction and helped get them on the right track. Then I headed back to the hotel, grabbed my backpack and checked out. I took an Uber to Fulton Garage where I dropped off anything I wasn’t taking on the cruise, collected my suitcase, and took the complimentary Fulton shuttle to the port.

The Sheraton Four Points is one of my favorite New Orleans hotels. If you are just looking for a place close to the port to sleep before a cruise, look for a hotel in the warehouse district. But if you want to tour the French Quarter, The Sheraton Four Points is one of your better hotel options.
