New Orleans: Frenchman Street
Last time on the New Orleans Barhop we left off at the R Bar which is the Bar used for exterior shots of the Tru Tone bar in NCIS: New Orleans. This bar is on Royal Street between the French Quarter and Frenchman Street which is where we’re heading next.
And this is what we have when we turn onto Frenchman Street.
Walking down by the lights on the left hand side is an area setup for vendors with arts, crafts, or whatever they are looking to sell.
You will also find people looking to sell unique services…I’m talking about the guy with the type writer not the girl.
You may find some interesting vehicles along the way.
There are definitely some unique bars on Frenchman Street.
But the main reason people come to Frenchman Street is for the music.
I’m looking for a place to sit down and listen to some music. I head to one of the popular venues called the Spotted Cat. Here is the website for the Spotted Cat which includes its live music calendar: https://www.spottedcatmusicclub.com/
The Spotted Cat was packed and they wanted a $5 cover. Since I didn’t know if I was even going to be able to get a seat I decided to backtrack to the Frenchman Hotel Bar where it looked like a lot of fun was happening.
After a couple of hours there the band went on break and I went out in search of food.
I wanted something to take back to the hotel room so I headed over to Dat Dog.
Here is a look at their menu.
I went with the Guinness Special and Cheddar-Bacon-Ranch Fries.
That will bring us into my next entry which will be on New Orleans food.
