Jubilee: Roatan
Good morning! We on our way to Roatan this morning but we have not arrived yet. This is an early morning look at the lido deck and behind us.
The weather looks perfect today.
Here is a look at today’s Fun Times.
There is not much of a line for Big Chicken but I’m going to eat at Emeril’s again.
This is the coffee situation at the Marina Bar.
I’m just getting a screwdriver here. I’ll get my coffee at Emeril’s.
The Java Blue coffee line for informational purposes.
Here are some views behind the counter at Emeril’s.
I got my usual seat.
We were supposed to arrive 30 minutes ago but Kyndall said there are challenges with the weather conditions and asked people to wait on higher decks. The Grand Central area is loaded with people.
This is the breakfast croissant. That’s a full creole omelet on it.
They just announced a 9:30 arrival.
Back on board has been pushed back from 5:30 to 6pm. It doesn’t really impact me. I’m just going to get in the ocean for a couple hours. Hopefully I’ll remember to bring cash for a couple of beers this time. I’ll be back on board for lunch.
It has come to my attention that some stewards are giving out Jubilee books. Some are even giving out hats from the inaugural cruise. I don’t care about the hats but I do have a book from Panorama, Mardi Gras, and Celebration so I would like to get my hands on a Jubilee book. I’ll mention it the next time I see my steward. If he can deliver it will have a significant positive impact on his additional tip.
After breakfast I headed up to the Red Frog Tiki Bar for a bloody Mary.
They also have the local beers here.
Here is a look at the speed test from lido deck. This is the best download I’ve had.
I take that back. The download in my room is the best I’ve had. I wouldn’t want to try to upload videos in here though.
I’m going to get my first bag of laundry going.
The beach crowd isn’t looking too bad.
I got all the way down to the gangway, realized I forgot my beach bag, and had to come all the way back. It is nice on the other lines where you can just pick up and drop off towels down there and nobody is trying to charge you for missing towels.
On Princess I could get ship WiFi from the water. We’ll see how Jubilee is.
I’m feeling some sprinkles so the water should be cleared out by the time I get down there.
This is where you would meet your excursions if you booked on through Carnival.
I wasn’t able to get a chair right by the beach so mine is actually back by the walkway. I’ll just make sure I keep an eye on my stuff while I’m out there.
A United Airlines plane is landing on the left.
The Wi-Fi is spotty just like it was with Princess. You just have to find a sweet spot. I’ve got one down by the 3rd life guard stand now
I stayed in the water about an hour then got out, collected my things, and washed the feet off.
I stopped by the bathroom behind the bar. They also have changing rooms.
Then I sat at the bar and had a couple Salva Vidas.
Here is a look at the prices.
We had pole dancing for entertainment.
Those beef nachos look good. There’s so much good food on this ship I don’t want to eat here.
Here is a look at the food menu.
I picked up ship Wifi on the bridge heading back from the beach.
Water spots and zip lining
Here are the prices.
While I was walking through a lady fell off of one of these hammocks. I laughed.
At some ports they let you in with just a ship card. Here they want your ID as well.
My steward came through fast on that book. He said not to tell anyone because they only have three boxes left. I won’t tell anyone.
Here is the buffet lunch menu.
Sea Dogs
Chicken Shwarma
Beach Buns
Pulled Pork sandwich from Beach Buns
Some tile work is being done. It’s crazy they already have to do repairs on the 7th cruise.
The Guy’s burger line is insane.
The Big Chicken line isn’t too bad.
Trivia is going on in the Pig & Anchor.
Hero’s Lounge has soccer and a super bowl replay on.
Spicy Bloody Mary
I got an alert on the Hub App about this new digital debarkation process.
Street Eats
Dr. Inks is open so I thought I would try to get a seat. It doesn’t look good right now. I’m going to hang around and see if that lady standing by my seat is just waiting for a to go drink.
I saw comedian Billy D. Washington on my way here. I guess he just got on the ship today and is going to be doing shows along with Jill Kimmel for the middle part of the cruise.
My spot opened up.
Sea Cucumber. This is one of my favorite drinks here.
Sea Grass Meadows isn’t bad.
Sea Tangle has kiwi boba balls in it.
Doctor’s Special is one of the better drinks here.
This is how they put the logo on it.
Snapping Pop. This one has pop rocks in it.
Dajana went on break. Sebastian came on to replace her. He doesn’t know me from anything. He hasn’t been here when I have. I ordered a drink with squid ink. They have a standard question “do you have any seafood allergies?” You should’ve seen his face when I said “only squid ink.”
This is think or Sink
Java Blue food options
On Mardi Gras and Celebration this whole left wall was a refrigerator filled with drinks. Then the cooler ahead was filled with grab and go food items. They have reduced the number of beverages and removed the grab and go food items from this ship.
Rio Carnival
I watched that until it was time for comedy in the Punchliner.
Comedy host Clint
Billy D. Washington
I requested a table towards the end of comedy and got one.
This table is right next to the one I had last night. They’re changing it up on me, but not too much.
Jambalaya pasta appetizer
Crab and shrimp cake
The appetizers were good. This beef wellington was overcooked for me. I did like the cheesy potato thing.
Bitter N Blanc
It’s not even formal night.
Family Feud is the entertainment in the theater tonight.
Dive-In movies on the lido deck.
I’m down in the limelight for PG comedy.
Jill Kimmel. For those who don’t know she is Jimmy Kimmel’s sister.
This group in the comedy club came in late and the woman tripped over a chair and face planted. It was pretty funny.
Here’s an interesting bathroom I haven’t been in yet. What happens if you’re washing your hands and someone opens the door?
It was so loud behind the back wall of the limelight during comedy. Loud talking, laughing. It was very distracting. That’s not a public space so I’m guessing crew were out there.
Dive-in movie on lido deck.
I’m off to bed. Tomorrow we’re in Costa Maya. Good Night!
