Jubilee: Cozumel
Good Morning! 7am is pretty much the latest I can sleep on this ship because that’s when the group of 3 or 4 rooms in my hall start slamming their doors and having loud conversations in the hallway.
I stepped out to the bar to get my screwdriver for breakfast.
On this ship I like to have Big Chicken for breakfast on port days.
This is the chicken biscuit and fries.
I needed another screwdriver.
I think the gangway was open at 8 but I’m getting out a little later. It’s nice not being on a time schedule. Carnival Dream and Paradise are in port with us today.
Voyager and Enchantment of the Seas are at the International port.
Here are the taxi prices. I didn’t look last time and got ripped by a guy outside of the port charging me $20 to go downtown. I just assumed the price went up. Nope. He charged me double. He’s like the Carnival of cab drivers.
Celebrity Constellation and Marella Explorer 2 are downtown.
This is the brewery. The owner Sergio used to be a tour guide with Cozumel Barhop.
I wasn’t too happy with the selection. They only had two beers today and neither are my type. But I’m here so I’m trying both of them.
James Blonde
New England IPA
The brewery was a block down from the Cozumel museum.
The museum looks like it may have some interesting stuff. I may check it out another time.
Mardi Gras
Another thing that has been on my list maybe for another time. Even though I think it’s a frozen margarita on top of a regular margarita and I don’t usually drink margaritas. But they always look good.
When I got back to the ship I headed to Street Eats for lunch.
Debarkation options were left in my mailbox while I was in port.
I‘m leaving out my last bag of laundry for the steward.
I headed to the Pig & Anchor for a bloody mary.
On my way here I was heading downstairs and ran into a huge line by Limelight Lounge. It looks like they’re doing another Build-A-Bear except this time instead Of having it jn Grand Central they’re going to pack out a tiny lounge. There’s a line out both doors as you can see here.
Nikola and Daniel are working the The Golden Mermaid. They get off the ship at the end of June.
Carnival always wants to make sure you know when the Casino is open.
I moved over to Dr. Inks and ordered a Doctor’s Special.
Back on Board was 3:30. At 3:50 they were looking for Stephanie. Stephanie has been found.
I finished up the menus at The Golden Mermaid and Dr. Inks so I’m going to try my first Alchemy drink of the cruise.
Drunker guy next to me is trying to convince drunk guy next to him to be a stand up comedian. “You’ve got so much material you could probably change it up 3-4 times a night at least.”
They’re getting ready for The World Works here. I’m heading to comedy in the Punchliner.
Q-Tip Clint
Jill Kimmel
Barbie is on the big screen.
I’m grabbing a Shiner from the Tiki Bar.
United in song at Grand Central.
I stopped by the room for the first time since this afternoon. The steward did his work.
And delivered my laundry.
I headed to the Limelight for Billy D Washington’s PG show.
I’m trying to time dinner so my table is ready when I get out of here.
I have never seen a dining room this packed at this time. I will bet it’s a combination of lobster night and a smaller dining room. Normally when I walk into a dining room during the last 30 minutes of service, it’s at least half empty.
I’m in the opposite corner of dining room tonight at a four top.
Showtime tonight was someone singing….Sweet Caroline. At least the diners didn’t join in even after several requests by the performer.
Crawfish fettuccine (appetizer portion)
Corn chowder
Spinach salad. It didn’t used to have fruit it. But they don’t call it. Baby anymore. Maybe when it grows up it gets fruit.
I miss the days when lobster came with jumbo shrimp and risotto.
panna cotta
I just took a shot over my shoulder to get an idea of how crowded it is at 9pm. I should’ve taken some on the way in. On the way out it was still quite crowded for 9:30. I would 95% full at 8:30. 75% at 9:30.
It’s funny watching the upper photographer fight the lower one to keep the other shot out of his shot.
Singer Melissa McLaughlin was the entertainment.
I had 20 minutes until the 80’s Rock N Glow party so I laid down in the room. That was a mistake. I fell asleep. There’s not much I can do now. Good night!
