Jewel: Embarkation

If you are staying in Seward the night before the cruise I recommend taking the free shuttle to the port. The walk to the port is a bit longer than it looks.

I did a tour with Major Marine today and they transferred my bag to the ship so I don’t have any bags to check.

That ended up being about a 20-minute walk from the Harbor 360 Hotel.

It looks like a bit of a mess at first.

There’s no wait if you’re booked in The Haven.

I have been in line for 10 minutes at this point. I’m looking back to the entrance here. The line is much worse than it was when I arrived. The train whistle just sounded so the train passengers are about to get in line as well.

It took me 20 minutes from entering the building to getting checked-in. Now I have to go through security. Fortunately there’s no line for that.

It only took two minutes to get through security.

I arrived at the building at 5:18 and I’m boarding at 5:42.

I always do boarding videos. It’s become a tradition for me.

On Carnival boarding is always fun with music playing and people dancing. This is extremely serious. You board in an elevator lobby. They sanitized my hands and did not like me taking a video.

The guy on the left was a thorn in my side several times throughout the cruise and it started here. I cut this video just before he tells me not to film. I guess NCL stands for Nofun Cruise Line.

I checked my luggage with Major Marine this morning and it’s already at my room. I didn’t notice this until I was already back home but someone ripped my suitcase as you can see on the left corner.

Since I’m boarding pretty late my room was ready immediately. Next time we’ll cover day 1.
