Jewel: Debarkation and Voyage Home
Good morning. Today is debarkation day. I have plenty of time until my flight so I’m getting breakfast before I get off of the ship. They called self assist at 7:15. I’m carrying off so I can go down at any time now.
It’s 7:40 and the atrium is loaded with people and their suitcases. I don’t think anyone is actually getting off of the ship yet.
Smoked salmon bagel
Pancakes
They called red tags at 7:45 so people must be getting off of the ship. I’m going to go for it.
The reason I didn’t see a debarkation line is there was no debarkation line. I flew through to customs. I forgot to fill out my declaration form so I had to do that.
This is where I did the luggage storage and Hop on, Hop off bus last year.
If you bought the post cruise excursion, this is your guy on the left.
Waterfront station is right there when you exit the port. But I remember last year I had to take a left and walk a couple blocks.
Last year I bought a ticket at the kiosk but this year I found I can just use Apple Pay at the turnstile.
That looks like some kind of a carnival.
It looks like that ride cost $4.65. That’s not bad.
It took just one hour from leaving my cabin to getting here. I’m definitely regretting not booking the earlier flight now.
It was all easy and quick. The bag drop line was probably the longest. I’d say that was three minutes.
The regular security line was shorter than TSA pre check. It was a very short wait for customs. There were only 12 people in front of me and they had about 15 agents.
I definitely feel like I’m in a better terminal this time. Last time I was flying Air Canada to Toronto. Maybe that’s the difference. I was in the terminal two hours before the early flight and four hours before my flight!
I decided to try Tim Horton’s again. I found a topic on that to see what people were recommending. It was a jalapeno bread and a four cheese twist. I one of of each and added a roast beef sandwich.
This jalapeno bread is definitely the best of the bunch. I’d go for that every time.
My plane is here.
My additional leg room seat looks good.
Now we’ve been sitting here in Dallas for 10 minutes because another plane is at our gate.
It took 30 minutes it took to get a gate.
I got my suitcase.
And I’m on the shuttle.
There must’ve been a dust storm or something.
We’re not in Alaska anymore.
