Jewel: Anchorage
I just arrived in Anchorage. I took a $19 Uber from the airport to my Airbnb near downtown. The civic center is where my bus to Seward leaves from in the morning. I’m heading out for dinner at the Glacier Brewhouse now.
Even though it’s 9pm it’s still light outside because we’re in Alaska and it’s weird like that here.
This reminds me of my first morning here last time when I felt like the only person in town.
This art caught my attention along the way.
This is my favorite of the places I ate at here last time. This will be my third time to eat there.
It’s always packed here. The streets are empty because everyone is in here. I was lucky to find one bar spot. I’m starting out with an Alaskan Amber.
This is the crab stuffed halibut.
After dinner I had an Oatmeal Stout.
I’m ready for bed. I think it’s 1am back home. Here is a look at more of their food on the way out.
It just started raining. My umbrella is in the Airbnb. I want to check out the Civic Center on my way back to scope out where my bus is going to be.
If anyone is looking for a pub for sale in Anchorage, I know a place.
This is where my bus leaves from in the morning.
I can hear this live music all over town. I’m going to see what’s going on.
It’s outside at a bar called Humpy’s.
Just one then I’m going to bed.
I was crossing the street on my way back and thought someone lost a hand!
I’m off to bed!
Good morning! I made good use of the provided K-Cups here.
My bus leaves in 33 minutes. It’s less than a 15 minute walk so I’m checking out of “The Hideaway.”
That’s my bus. Next time we’ll cover the trip to Seward.
