I Have a Dream: 1st Sea Day

on
April 9, 2019

There’s always that time in the morning when other people on your floor decide you’ve had enough sleep. Today that was 7:45am. I could actually hear someone banging on a door screaming “let’s go!” Probably someone banging on the bathroom door in their cabin not realizing everyone can hear it.

Here’s what’s on the schedule for today.

Coffee Bar

The Lanai

At home I drink the strongest darkest coffee I can find. No cream or sugar. On vacation I go with white chocolate mocha.

Atrium Bar

The breakfast of champions. Extra spicy double Bloody Mary no fruits or vegetables by request.

Brunch

I tried to do sea day brunch at 9:30am but that was not a good time unless you like waiting in long lines. The dining room was loaded and there had to be 100 people waiting outside the dining room. I came back an hour later and it’s much better—no line.

Steak and Eggs, eggs scrambled

Lido Deck

Ice carving going on by the pool.

Lunch

There’s plenty of real estate available during lunch time at Pasta Bella. This was my experience on Breeze as well. Around day 5 or 6 the blue cards start to figure out that there’s lunch up here and it’s included.

Bread, Caesar Salad, Lasagna

Red Frog Rum Bar

Caribbean Colada

Lip synch battle auditions are going on over by the pool.

Now the mixology competition.

Alchemy Bar

I finally found the right opportunity and situation to play some blackjack. Something I’ve learned is if you sit there long enough eventually you lose. I like to double my money and get out. I went in with one black chip and left with two. And the dealer got a nice tip.

I don’t know what this is. I asked for something that’s not on the menu and didn’t have tequila in it.

Dinner

Comedy Club

Alchemy Bar

The Remedy

Island Old Fashioned

Comedy Club

I’ll throw out another thing I like about Breeze more than Dream. In the comedy club on Breeze, they have a TV on the wall behind the bar showing the stage in case bartenders are blocking your view of the stage like this.

End the night with a little pizza.

During my long, grueling…8 1/2 minute wait for pizza, I passed the time by working on another poem. I call it 24 hour pizza

Pizza in the morning. Pizza in the evening. Pizza at super time. With 24 hour pizza, you can eat pizza anytime!
