Christmas Breeze: Galveston Day One
I decided to stop in Webster on my way down to Galveston. I normally stay in Webster and this taco stand is always crowded when I drive by so I’m finally going to give it a try.
There’s an order window on the left and a pickup window on the right. After you order they give you a buzzer that goes off when your food is ready to be picked up.
I’m waiting inside for my food to be ready.
They have a salsa bar in here.
I’m glad I only got two tacos. With the chips and guac one taco would’ve been enough. It’s all excellent.
Next up Galveston Island Brewing
I’m starting with this coconut beer.
I grabbed a seat where I can watch the game. A group of female Tennessee fans joined me for awhile.
raspberry tiki
Unique urinal in the bathroom.
This one is Coastal Christmas.
This is Nitro.
They have free brewery tours every Saturday but I missed it. I’m going to check out the upstairs.
They have outdoor seating and a playground for the kids. That was all packed when I got here.
I closed out with that because it’s time to check in to the Airbnb. $25 was the total so I guess those beers are $6.25 after tax. Not bad. My taco bill was $16.50.
This is the Airbnb. It’s a house made into separate rooms. Mine is the one upstairs on the left with the three windows. For a full review of this Airbnb, please check out Galveston Beach Airbnb.
This is The Spot. They have five bars and Sunday ticket. It’s what my Airbnb location was based on. The owner started out as a bus boy here.
One of my favorite bars is the Longboard at DoubleTree. I almost stayed here. I would’ve considered it more if the temperature was a few degrees warmer where I would use the pool that connects to it.
Their TVs were not working so I grabbed a Shiner to go and I’m heading to my plan B.
This is a good backup plan at Beerfoot Brewery by the Comfort Inn. They have a large selection of beers and a big screen TV in the back.
This is a good screen and atmosphere for Texas vs. Texas A&M.
Arch Manning touchdown!
Crawford Boch
There’s a photo op by the bathrooms. I’ll skip it.
I’ll probably head to The Spot at halftime to get closer to the Airbnb.
I saw they have an Abita beer on tap that I haven’t had so I’m trying a Beeracuda.
The bar with the pool.
I made it to The Spot in time for the second half.

This is going to be my spot for the NFL games tomorrow.
Smashing Pumpkin from Galveston Island brewing.
My plan was to eat at Gaidos before the game. I put on jeans and a polo to meet their dress code. But I ate too much at the taco stand and was not hungry. I thought they were open until 11 but it’s actually 10 so I think I’m going to get something from Brick House to take back to the Airbnb after this. Then I’ll do Gaido’s tomorrow after the Saints game.
The bathroom is across the way so let’s take a look at the menu over there. I’ll probably eat lunch here tomorrow.
I got a flower while I was gone.
Back to Shiner.
This is not at all what I expected when it was 17-0 at halftime.
I placed my order at Brick House online and picked it up.

I’m off to bed. Good night!
