Alaska Jewel: Tracy Arm Fjord
Good morning from Tracy Arm Fjord! It’s a beautiful day. Today is actually Juneau day and I don’t remember Tracy Arm being on our schedule. I think the Captain is trying to make up for the ship being unable to get close to Hubbard Glacier the other day. Fortunately I was on the excursion so I got a close up look.
Since today is actually Juneau day there isn’t a glacier tour here. If you’re interested in seeing what Tracy Arm glacier explorer tour was like you can see that here.
They opened up this crew area to the public for viewing. I just need to weasel my way in somewhere. I think I see a spot straight ahead.
And I have a place to put my coffee.
I’m not an expert but that looks like a hanging glacier right there.
The highlight is Sawyer glacier. This is as close in as we’re getting due to the ice but if you’re interested in more you can check out my glacier explorer from last year.
I got my pictures and let someone else have my spot. Let’s check the other side.
They have the forward cam on the big screen in the atrium.
The number of waterfalls in Tracy Arm is incredible.
