A Christmas Dream: 3rd Sea Day

Good morning! This is the longest coffee line I’ve stood in this week. Seven people in front of me. I guess I did avoid the line on Belize morning by getting my coffee at the atrium bar.

I’ve been lazy this morning. I slept till 8 when the neighbors decided it was time for me to wake up. Then laid in bed till after 9.

I will say this room location isn’t a bad secondary location. In some ways it’s better than my normal one. Just a few steps from the lido deck right between the pool area and the buffet. And my elevator/stairs go down right between the casino and alchemy.

I almost did brunch before coffee because the line was short but as I got closer to the front of the line it looked like they had 20 people inside waiting for a table. So I decided to get coffee first.

Here is the schedule for today.

Casino Bar

They have luggage tags in a more visible area this time. I was able to secure the earliest possible tag number. Normally I’m not in a hurry to get off but the Saints do play at noon tomorrow so I’ll have a little extra motivation.

Main Lounge

Towel animal theater going on in the lounge. Debarkation presentation after that. Blue cards should be at that. Sounds like a good time to check on the brunch situation.

Brunch

That was quick I got a table–booth actually.

Just you?

No, I’m having brunch with Mary.

Pretty quick today and it’s the proper temp. I think a lot of people are indeed at the debarkation presentation.

Laundry Room

One thing I really don’t want to do is load my suitcase full of dirty clothes. I haven’t done it yet. One bad thing about my current room location is it isn’t close to a laundry room. My normal room is extremely close to the lido laundry room. Easy to check for an open washer, carry my clothes over, drop a load, and grab a drink on lido.

My options on deck 9 mid are deck 7 mid or deck 10 forward. I made a test run without clothes to deck 10. Both washers were available so I went for it. My dollar tree pop up hamper is on cruise #9 and it’s still holding up.

Red Frog Rum Bar

While I’m waiting for my laundry to wash I’m getting a Miami Vice on the lido deck.

Put my clothes in the dryer and headed back to Lido Deck for the “Groove for St. Jude” event.

CD said he’d get into an child small for a $250 donation and he got it almost immediately.

Clothes are clean and packed. Just a few finishing touches to put on the packing before dinner.

Guy’s BBQ

I just wanted a little Mac n cheese. Asked for a little beef with it. When I said that was all I wanted the guy started piling beef on. I’m like “no. Stop. That’s good. Thank you, no.”

Lido Buffet

Chocolate extravaganza

Atrium Bar

It’s hot outside. I’m sitting here with a fun ship waiting on the guest services line to go down.

My OBC from the travel agent and the excursion price match covered my auto gratuities, taxes from embarkation day drinks, and my laundry. I’m going to throw a gift card on my account to cover anything else. I’m one of the 10% off gift card guys. They’ll send me a card with the remaining balance within a week and I’ll throw it on the next cruise I have that isn’t fully paid for.

Casino

I still needed to cash out my $100 chip. I thought I’d give carnival a chance take it from me so I hit the blackjack table. When everyone else left the table I was at $105 so I gave the dealer $5 and cashed out my $100.

Hot diamond is sitting on the couch behind the casino bar..barefoot and digging in his ear. Yesterday morning a guy was in his pajamas at the coffee shop. The first sea day a couple wore robes everywhere they went.

Alchemy Bar

I hit the alchemy bar. It’s loaded with trivia players so I’m in no mans land. Tiger bait is two seats down. Viktor is working on his first drink for me. Let’s see what he’s got. I just told him no tequila or whiskey.

Viktor’s first drink for me. It’s pretty good. A rum drink he calls the Jack Sparrow.

Cabin

After that alchemy drink I went back to the room to finish packing and get ready for dinner.…but I fell asleep. So I just made it down 5 mins before your time dining started and the line was back beyond the glass elevators on both sides. Insane. Fortunately I was still able to get my table.

Dinner

Mussels

I’m trying something new here. But I really thought this would be more than cheese and tomatoes.

Caprese Salad

Prime rib with sides of broccoli and Mac n cheese.

Baked Alaska

Cabin

Main Lounge

I’m checking out the lip synch battle. There’s an 86 year old in it.

I left the lip synch battle before they announced the winner to hopefully get a spot at the Alchemy before the rush from the theater. It was loaded. I had to stand at the end of no mans land. But after a few minutes the people in the last two seats left.

Suri made this for me. It’s good. It’s like spearmint. “It’s very refreshing.”

A couple of poems I’ve been working on when it comes to the subject of them replacing the included Tandoor with the pay for Seafood Shack.

Tandoor

Tandoor

Is no more

I never ate there anyway

Seafood Shack

I don’t care

Let carnival make money

Off people who eat there

Alchemy Bar

This is a drink from Maria.

This is a tasty drink from Suri. Tastes like coconut. He said it’s made with Zaya.

Maria made this one. I think it will be my last drink.

Debarkation Morning

Good morning. I woke up to what I think was deck chairs being moved. Then I hear an announcement “we are continuing our debarkation process.” I checked the time 7:15. I laid around until the next announcement at 7:35. It sounds like most of the decks have been called for self assist. I’m going to try to get out of the room around 8am because I have to get out of here for my AT&T data to work and I have to have my AT&T data to stream the Saints pre pre game. I’ll post updates on the debarkation process.

While I was in the shower they called deck 6 self assist. I think that first call at 7:15 was the lower decks. 7:35 skipped the middle and went to decks 10-11. And now they’re filling in the middle decks starting with deck 6 for self assist. They are still unloading checked bags so no regular debarkation yet.

Deck 9 self assist was called, then deck 7 self assist.

Man it’s cold out here. I forgot about the possibility of it being cold when we got back to New Orleans. It’s 47 degrees.

They called all self assist and luggage tags 1-3.

They have now called luggage tags 1-10. That’s me.

While on the ramp I hear them call luggage tags 1-15.

I got my luggage and through customs quickly without incident.

I didn’t have a ride back to my car. I had a number of a shuttle service that’s supposed to be $10/person. I was going to try lyft with the discount code carnival. I forget the discount but someone said there was a discount. That lyft price was fluctuating from $15-18 and the wait time was going up. I was going to have to wait 20 mins. So I just called this shuttle. She said “I’m pulling up” and sent me a picture of her shuttle which I am sitting on now.

Seven passengers on the shuttle. I have the entire back row to myself. The driver uses her horn liberally.
