Good morning from Malaga, Spain! Today is the longest port day of the cruise. We’re supposed to be able to get off of the ship at 8:15. Back on board isn’t until 8:30pm. This is the 8am view from my balcony. As you can see on the left, we are in port with Marella Voyager.
Here is a look at today’s Fun Times.
Fireball shots are a good way to start a long port day. This is my second. I ordered a water as well to hydrate before I go ashore.
The aforementioned Marella Voyager.
At the last second I decided to book the Malaga Hop-on, Hop, off bus. They have two options. 25 euros for just the bus or 35 euros that included tickets to some museums and tours. I went with the 35 which came to $37.
For full coverage of the Hop-on, Hop, off bus, please visit Malaga Hop-on, Hop-off bus. I am going to skip ahead to after the tour.
I am back at the terminal.
This is where they nail all of the people who bought too many euros and are desperate to exchange them for dollars.
I normally don’t like having my steward do the room during the day. On sea days I’m in and out of the room and on port days I may want to send out laundry and include the clothes I wore in port. I know I can call him to pickup laundry. I prefer to do it all in one shot.
But on this cruise since we have some long port days and plenty of sea days coming up to send off laundry, I told my steward he can clean the room during the day on port days. But I want him to do it at night on sea days. So I came back to a clean room.
The duo is playing in the atrium.
I stopped at Frizzante and ordered a Moretti while I waited for a dinner table.
I received my table assignment and headed down to the dining room.
This is what is on the menu.
Baked onion soup.
The server told me the BBQ ribs were a really small portion today and suggested ordering a second entree. I ordered lasagna as well. The BBQ rib portion looks normal to me. I told him I wouldn’t eat the fries or beans and asked for extra corn instead of beans. I got the extra corn but he still brought the fries.
Lasagna Alla Bolognese.
Torta Sbriciolata Alle Mele E Mandorle.
The band is playing in the Gondola Lounge.
They don’t seem to use this buffet on this ship. On Vista and Panorama they put a breakfast buffet here in the mornings.
I stepped out on the lanai to catch more of the sunset.
The duo is still playing in the atrium.
This was delivered to my room while I was out for dinner.
I have an early excursion tomorrow in Gibraltar so I’m off to bed. Good night!
